Liz Guilmet is a multidisciplinary artist who calls many places home including St. Louis Missouri, Boston Massachusetts, Sesto Fiorentino Italy, and Ann Arbor Michigan. She graduated with honors from University of Michigan, Stamps School of Art & Design in 2008 with a BFA in Studio Art, and received her MFA from Washington University in St. Louis Sam Fox School of Art in 2014. Her work is deeply rooted in drawing and references scientific illustration and religious iconography while incorporating visceral materials like blood, honey, and gold. Many of her current pieces are curious conversations with dead creatures from natural history museums around the world.
