Biography

Jamie Vander Broek is the Librarian for Art & Design as well as a Learning Librarian and Exhibits & Programming Librarian. She works with the Stamps School of Art & Design to support the information needs of their students, faculty, and staff. She also develops and coordinates exhibits and programs, teaches classes on Library resources, and provides reference service both in person and online (if you Ask a Librarian, you might get me!). She is involved in digital signage governance on campus, and chairs the Library's Exhibits and Programming Group.

Previously, she was the Programming Coordinator for the University's North Quad building, an internationally-themed academic and residential complex. Prior to that, she was the Curatorial Research Center Librarian at UMMA and a University Library Associate at the Art, Architecture and Engineering Library.

She holds a Master's degree from the UM School of Information in Art and Art Museum Librarianship, and received a BA in Art History with a minor in Italian Studies from Wellesley College. Since arriving in Ann Arbor in 2005, she has been active in the local art and book communities as well as ARLIS/NA, the Art Libraries Society of North America.

In her spare time she devours interiors blogs and magazines, shops estate sales, and is busy tearing apart and putting back together a 1930s cape cod on the west side of Ann Arbor.
