As a member of the Smucker•Wagstaff Academic Programs Center staff, and in collaboration with faculty and staff throughout the School, Sandy coordinates international efforts supporting the A&D objective of 100% student participation. She holds a position of leadership regarding policies and procedures in the areas of international advising and communications, the development of international agreements, facilitating student international experiences, managing programs in M-Compass, and representing A&D on campus-wide international committees.

Before joining A&D in 2012, Sandy acquired some 20 years of international program management and administrative experience at UM, as well as deep knowledge of UM processes and procedures. She served as the program manager for the School of Kinesiology’s Center for Global Opportunities, which she established in 2006. She held key administrative positions in the School of Public Health Population Fellows Program from 1992 through 2006. And she has been a charter member of UM international committees including the International Travel Oversight Committee and the Council on Global Engagement. The Michigan Global Portal web site is largely the result of her initiative.

When Sandy is not at work she can be found playing basketball with her son or performing with the UMS Choral Union, which has even won a Grammy!
