Nathan Byrne works in sculpture, installation, collaborative artmaking, and time-based projects. His hybrid art practice generates a spectrum of wonder and inquiry as he investigates themes such as devotion, memorial, mysticism, reverie, revelation, and perception itself. He combines an assortment of media, to create fecund environments and enigmatic objects, which in turn, generate a heightened and transformative experience for the viewer. He is also a Co-Founder of Phosphor Project Space, an artist-run space for emerging artists, located in Pittsburgh, Pa. Excited to be a part of the Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design, Nathan is eager to explore and embrace this research driven program; and to find new paths and possibilities in artmaking.
