To say that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the 150% increase in anti-Asian hate crimes in 2020 would be both an understatement of the AAPI community’s grief and hurt, as well as a failure to identify the weapons of white supremacy, western imperialism, and racialized misogyny used against us and our elders. This video, "Fractal Trees", is a video installation within "Refactoring Peace: Reclaiming Safe Spaces for the Asian Elderly", a project intended to help the AAPI community reclaim and occupy culturally significant spaces while encouraging bystander intervention and community wellness.
