Tempo: Audiology Appointment App

Ayla Soofi

Undergraduate
Tempo is a digital audiology appointment booking app designed to address the barriers that Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) individuals face when accessing healthcare. Created from my own experience as a DHH individual, Tempo simplifies the appointment process by eliminating phone-based scheduling and providing text-based, visual alternatives. Accompanied by a series of informational posters about the purpose of this app, this project aims to reduce anxiety, promote independence, and improve access to healthcare. Additionally, easily accessible resources with simplified information relevant to audiology enhance user understanding for individuals unfamiliar with the field, including those with limited English proficiency. With a focus on accessible design, I strive to create intuitive, inclusive experiences that bridge communication gaps and advocate for meaningful change in everyday interactions.
