My piece shows a woman figure pouring tea from a teapot, hence drowning herself in tea. The piece is black and white. The background is made of curated newspaper to emphasize media consumption.

Throughout this piece I sought to dramatize the idea of overconsumption in media. The trend “spill the tea” means to “provide gossip”. This is represented quite literally, where the figure is drowning herself in tea— representing metaphorically the process of over consuming media. The newspaper in the background symbolizes the overwhelming notion of being fed great or horrific news constantly in the new digital age. These juxtaposing ideals help emphasize how over consuming media affects ones mental health.
