In My Bed

Intaglio Etching and Aquatint on Paper

Undergraduate
Working off a prompt of exploring figure and environment relationship I focused on depicting an everyday domestic moment in a historical and time-intensive technique of intaglio printing. I am particularly interested in bodies and how love can be represented through them which was a major point of inspiration through depicting my partner laying in my bed and how love can change both the meaning of a space and the expression of the illustrated body. Through spending countless hours etching, aquatinting, and printing I believe my emotions get embedded and elevated through the printing process and thus get reflected in the final piece.
