This is a portrait of one of the most important people in my life, my friend Cora, who I have known ever since I was five years old. She is my best friend, and has supported me every time I needed it. She and her sister now live in Denmark, and with college at the forefront of my life, it's not often that I get the chance to talk to her by phone. It's difficult trying to express your love for someone, and it's never been particularly easy for me to articulate my feelings to people, so my art has been a way to compensate for that. What I can't say, I paint. Even though I don't see her that much nowadays, I always have a part of her with me. This painting is dedicated to her, to our friendship, her strength, and all those unspoken moments. I've never had a sibling, but she is my sister.
