I discovered my passion for animating a little over two years ago and have been pursuing that as my primary medium ever since. With a background in illustration and videography it incorporated into the practice several ideas and techniques I was already comfortable and experienced with, but as I continued to work on larger or more intricate projects, especially this one, I learned so much about the work and studies that are unique to animation as well.
This project quickly showed me it would demand a lot more planning and thought than anything I had worked on to this point. From extensive note taking and brainstorming to ideate the concepts I wanted to explore, draft after draft of storyboards to create a coherent scene between the cuts, I learned a lot about being the driving force behind a larger animation project. I embraced the process of this learning though, keeping up all my original ideas even as the direction and scope of this project changed time and time again. The notes I kept up on the walls do not reflect the final version of this animation, rather they reflect the entire process from start to finish.
