Rewild

Rewild is a web-based interactive art piece which tells the story of an urban fox’s return to the wild. The term ‘rewild’ refers to nature’s ability to rehabilitate itself, which can be seen throughout the story, as the fox embraces its original habitat of the forest. Through combining the visual arts with interactivity, the artist has chosen to represent the futility of choice through the instinctual movements of an animal. Using the mouse, the player makes choices and follows the fox throughout its journey. The major goal behind Rewild is to push the boundaries of how people interact with artwork by giving them a chance to make the decision to actively look at the exhibit. By transforming the artwork into a game-like experience, I hope that you will be able to spend more of your time exploring the visual material rather than simply passing by it.
