Art studios, seemingly blank and waiting for activation, reveal themselves to be crawling with life in this body of work.
This installation is a large-scale representation of the molds that have taken root and continue to thrive amidst the walls, floors, fibers, and plants of this studio. Stemming directly from the experiments conducted in petri dishes swabbed within Studio 9A, this work embodies the organic evolution of the space itself.
Through the integration of rugs, dog fibers, and soft sculptures, the installation transforms into a microcosm of biodiverse existence. It dives into humanity's relationship with the natural world, suggesting its presence beyond our immediate perception. With no choice but to confront the reality that everything is alive, this work encourages viewers to feel more connected to the life they cannot see.
