Imagine creating spaces that influence culture. Places, like Highland Coffeehouse, a hidden gem in Ohio that stays open from 5 pm to 2 am every night. It welcomes everyone; individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community people of all ages those with views and students from nearby colleges. This spot is a center for building connections in an inviting atmosphere. By working with the team at Highland and focusing on strategies I aim to enhance this concept and promote inclusive spaces, across the country. I'd like to support places where authentic conversations thrive, reshaping societal norms. This project embodies Highland’s immediate impression of a natural commitment to diversity and inclusivity, welcoming a wide range of customers. When you visit, you become part of a relaxed, mellow, laid-back environment and are served you with warmth and hospitality. This project, with insights of current owners, displays how Highland Coffeehouse is more than a coffee shop; it’s a haven where everyone is welcome to enjoy way into the wee hours of the morning- where you only whip out your wallet once you call it a night. I find that this place is a great show of how craft and authenticity can show up in design.
