In the vibrant spirit of Detroit's industrial landscape, "Job Security" is a reflection of the endured resilience ingrained within blue collar communities. As a product of this environment, I've been privy to the narratives of perseverance and determination that define the lives of those who labor tirelessly in pursuit of stability. Raised amidst the echoes of machinery and the aura of hard work, my journey as a designer is deeply rooted in the values instilled by my family – values of grit, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to craft. However, amidst the clangor of the factory floor, there exists another narrative, one that often goes unspoken – the allure of the white collar, the seductive promise of upward mobility and prestige. In working class America, white collar professions are often glorified, seen as the ultimate goal, a symbol of success and achievement. "Job Security" serves as an homage to these foundational principles, each garment a testament to the indomitable spirit of America's working class. Through this collection, I aim to capture the essence of their experiences, inviting viewers to delve into the rich tapestry of human resilience that underpins our society.
