A poster featuring two greyhounds circling a skeleton with flowers growing out of it. A quote is written across the image in red: "THE DEAD RECEIVE MORE FLOWERS THAN THE LIVING BECAUSE REGRET IS STRONGER THAN GRATITUDE". In the right corner, an ink painting of chrysthanthimums has been inverted so the background is black and the ink is white. It is contained within a drawn box. Down the center of the image, a red abstract symbol resembling a spear or sword pierces the paper, stopping around halfway down.

Regret

I encountered this anonymous quote spontaneously online, and was immediately struck to design a poster around it. I found it simultaneously spoke beautifully about the fleeting nature of gratitude and impenetrable stains left by regret, while also heavily reminding me of my own mortality. I wanted to communicate this raw response visually, and immediately began sketching. The resulting image is this sketch, and how I worked through/understood my emotions through artistic response.
