The primary image depicts two reductive linocut prints of water, filling the entire matrix. The two prints have the same matrix and different color palettes. The print on the left shows water ranging from a light sky blue to a deep peacock blue, as water might look on a bright day with a blue sky. The print on the right shows water ranging from a steeley light gray to a dark murky gray, bordering on green, as water might look on a stormy day.

The View From The Boat Diptych

Reduction Linocut

This reductive linocut diptych shows the expanse of water you might see when looking down, off the side of a boat. Water reflects the colors around and the shadows within; without the context of surroundings, such as land or the horizon, the water is endless and abstract, composed of thin lines and bands of color. Only when you step back, and gain perspective, does it look like a rippling seascape.
