While researching the practices of my Indigenous Mexican ancestors the concept of exchange was a recurring theme. The act of exchange is holistic and very simple. Meals are a way to show appreciation and care. Inez y Chabela have known each other since childhood, despite the barriers of country borders and time away from each other they still come together to enjoy a meal prepared by loved ones.
