Invisible Heritage is an exploration of my identity as a mixed-race Asian American woman. Here, I visually illustrate my Indian identity. The piece is a reminder that heritage, race, and identity are multidimensional and not always easily seen. I don’t normally wear traditional clothing but that doesn't make me less Indian. Visually verifying myself helped me to embrace my identity. I hope this influences others to embrace their heritage and see beauty in complex identities.
