Handbound book composed of various sheets of paper, each with a different spice used as a natural dye. The images on the sheets are laser cut drawings of the raw plants associated with each spice; those featured are: cinnamon, cocoa, chilli powder, black pepper, and garlic.

The meticulous process of making paper by hand includes measuring, beating, pouring, and waiting- techniques not far from the kitchen. Through papermaking I found myself reminiscent of the years I lived with my grandparents, where food brought everyone together. Embedding spices in my work allowed me to invent my own recipes while honoring my grandmother, who is responsible for my love of creating.
