memories of a mannequin is a time-based photo-sculpture designed to degrade over time and be continually repaired. The mulberry prints are subject to a chemical process that burns portions of the image while leaving the edges of the burns in a state of constant erosion. The remnants are then (re)collaged and attached to one another using medical tape and thread. This modification of the photograph challenges traditional notions of truth in lens-based imagery, as well as plays off of what is known in experimental psychology as "boundary extensions," in which people are likely to have false recollections for the abrupt ending of events.
