The image shows a woman body being held by many hands and not able to have control over her own body. On the back there's many babies inside the cut out fish corpse showing how they are treated as flesh instead of human being. I chose to use the sketching technique because the coarse line stroke adds to the aggressiveness and violence in the piece.

Her Body

Inspired by the Roe v. Wade case of 2022, I created this piece to advocate for women's rights regarding their freedom to make decisions about their own bodies. In the image, the woman is held by hands representing society and the government, which restricts her body's movement. The woman’s calm expression shows that she is unable to fight for her rights when there are so many hands and so many people in control. The dead fish represents the uterus, which is cut open, and have fetuses surrounded by organs and liquids. The limited space of the open fish body and the gross fluids inside emphasizes the hardships and the unpleasant experience that women have to go through with pregnancy.
