While exploring my most personal spaces, I noticed the presence of many individuals I deeply appreciate imbued in the objects displayed around me. These items have come to symbolize the significant people in my life and their positive influence. I once heard, “My laugh is not mine; I borrowed it from someone else.” I find this to be true, as numerous aspects of myself have flourished through exchanged connections with these individuals. My space is a physical manifestation of this, as it is a colorful mosaic, each piece made from a connection with people in my life, together making up small fragments of myself that I've acquired from them.
These photographs act as a visual testament to the convergence of numerous individuals who have played pivotal roles in shaping me. While capturing these images, we engaged in conversation, allowing each image to hold a moment of connection. It's through these profound moments that new fragments begin to assemble distinctive forms. Each tile brings a novel understanding of their original whole into the mosaic. For each tile I’ve gathered, only nine of the many I’ve captured in photographs. Constantly evolving, due to the boundless opportunities for future connections.
