"Adventure Quest" is the story of two friends, Pen and Milo, who, while on a trip to a Renaissance Fair, accidentally travel through a magical portal to a real fantasy world. It is up to the reader to help Pen and Milo through this strange realm filled with dragons, wizards, and magic cats back to their own world.
Maggie Miller and Josh Saville have been writing choose your own adventure style stories together since middle school. Attracted to this genre by a love of reader interaction, they have always dreamed of adapting one of their silly tales visually. Adventure Quest was made into a comic by Miller from prose written by both her and Saville. It explores how nonlinear and overlapping story plots can exist together on a page to create a fun and meaningful experience for the reader.
