Emily Dibble: You Touched Me

You Touched Me

Emily Dibble

You Touched Me explores the physical interactions of bodies and paint. Each figure in the paintings is someone whom I have had a physical interaction with. Through my Touch Project, I keep a record of every time I touch someone or they touch me. Just as I transform the real experience of touch into abstract data, I transform the real body of each person into abstract figures. The experience of touch is reinforced through the bright colors, thick paint, and expressive mark making that emphasize the physicality of each painting.
