Disability is defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. It can be argued that whether or not one identifies as disabled, is relative to the quality of the available adaptive technology. I collaborated with local student Amanda Jurysta to develop winter wheelchair gloves as a means to start a dialogue on the many inequalities in design for disability.
