CLAMMING UP is the manifestation of a metaphorical, introspective investigation of the artist's experiences as a self-deprecating artist. Manami uses her alter ego, Clam Girl, to depict her feelings of insecurity through a variety of visual narrative platforms. While working on the project, the artist used her doubts as fuel to complete individual projects on a weekly basis, instead of allowing them to stunt her creativity, or cause her to "clam up."
