The "healing box" is a public art installation, which will create the illusion of a safe and warm place for both the Michigan campus and myself. Winter is a very difficult time for many students, including myself. I want to transform the glass box on north campus into a public art installation. Using contemporary fiber art techniques, I will hand dye multiple macramé chords in various vibrant hues to create the illusion of a lit atmosphere. My project will explore contemporary fiber art making as a therapeutic art form and will also be shedding light on the mental well being of students on this campus.
