This project is a series of twelve images that explore ethnic identity through memory. These prints are gouache paintings overlaid with my handwriting, and they recount snapshots of my experiences growing up as a first generation Filipino American. This topic, to me, has always been one of public versus private, thus the two forms in which the projects exists. The larger wall hangings speak to the public in the hopes of starting a discussion about perception of identity. The small prints in the box speak to the private, as though having a one on one conversation.
