I tell myself it’s just stillness

Caitlin Saladin

“I tell myself it's just stillness” is a fibers installation that employs obsessive, repetitive making to create a personal mourning ritual that reflects my conceptions and ideals about death.
Our society is greatly disconnected from death; this project creates a space for reconnecting, contemplating and seeing death not as an end, but as a natural, beautiful process and momentary stillness.
