Generation C(ircus) is a contemporary circus approach to a contemporary world. The project contains three individual pieces, that together, form the structure for a social circus company. The self-guided skill set list accompanies the teaching practicum that culminated in a youth student showcase. This showcase was created in a semester-long model, with meetings/classes for the youth weekly. *insert sociopolitically-aware title here* is the professional performance aspect of Generation C(ircus). Marisa Diamond, the soloist, performs circus arts and addresses themes of feminism and social justice through her own personal identities. These seemingly separate pieces come together in Generation C(ircus) to form a comprehensive social circus company with an emphasis on empowerment.
