David Littell: The Impersistence of Memory

The Impersistence of Memory

David Littell

This is a very personal piece for me about the aging and memory loss of a close relative. Certain portions of the piece feature layers of overlapping tree branches and other botanical elements that suggest the neurons and dendrons of the brain. Other passages of the piece are clouded and unclear, suggesting the loss and transitory effect of memory. The total effect is meant to be disorienting and ambiguous.
