The "Face Embryo" painting is representative of Abstract Expressionist work done when I first came back to New York City after my time at the University of Michigan. This type of work evolved into imagery and eventually Reliefs and Sculpture.
The"Face Embryo" oil, among other oil paintings, preceded the whole oeuvre of Birth, the Cosmos and Existence themes often used in my work. In recent years, I returned to printmaking using both Human and Creature imagery. I selected this work as the beginning theme for everything else that followed. The "Face Embryo" painting measures 60" x 70" in the analog world.
