Sheryl Budnik - Studio viewing room with recent work and previous Realist work

It was exciting to study art at the old Architecture building in the late 60s. An Expressionist drawing done in Mignonette Yin Cheng's U of M Life Drawing Class can be seen at far upper right. I went on to earn an MFA at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Married and raised 6 kids in northern WI, while painting Realism works that were shown in Chicago and New York. Went back to a more intuitive, expressionist style of painting in the late 80s. I produce about 100 oil paintings a year, garnering inspiration for my typical abstract sea and landscapes from visits to the Atlantic Ocean in Southampton and the Dingle west coast of Ireland. I credit U of M's Migonette Yin Cheng with fostering my Expressionist style of painting. In my home, I have an entire wall of framed Life Drawings from Ms. Cheng's class.
