’Reading between the lines’ is a set phrase with literal and metaphorical connotations. It suggests concealed, unspoken or avoided narratives. The project Between the Lines provides an alternative abstract interpretation and re-presentation of journalistic narratives. The source of my images is newsprint. Within this context of news communication and opinion forming, images and text are flexible tools for narrative control, ideological agenda setting and groupthink. This is a political arena where information, juxtaposition and contextualization collide. The detritus of the temporal and throwaway media information become my material starting points to shape, form and visualise new iconographic realities
