I am fascinated by natural landscapes, the visual impact of sky and earth compositions peppered by the textures of forests, fields, rocks, and water. The intricate color combinations get subtly filtered through shifting changes in light. Add in the sense of scale, space and mood and hopefully one can also feel a similiar "place".
This landscape paintings is a symbolic recreations meant to capture some of the sensation of natural landscapes. Colors, patterns, textures, and shapes are layered on intense areas of watercolor to divide images of earth and sky in the light at a captured moment in time.
