Measuring 60 x 104 inches this painting was commissioned for the Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. It was unveiled at the dedication of the Center on September 17, 2010. The painting illustrates the afternoon of September 17, 1787 when America's blueprint for democracy was signed. The painting required two years' of research, consultation with scholars, and the special assistance of the curatorial staff at Independence Hall.
