I want to be submerged in living experience, to use paint, installation, textiles, sculpture or language to create metaphorical spaces where viewers see their lives as part of a larger communal epic. Early work in theatre, dance and opera design gave me a heightened appreciation of the power of spatial surroundings. I aim to pull the viewer into a protected space where complex contemporary issues can be re-imagined.
I see myself as an American, carrying on the tradition of building a New World.
