Bio
Michelina Risbeck is a screendance filmmaker invested in capturing movement from dancers and athletes in different cities. She began with street photography where she developed skills in composition, natural lighting, and preserving a moment in time. Patterns evolved and her fascination with lines, geometry, body poses, and motion continued to grow.
While earning her BFA in Art & Design from the University of Michigan STAMPS School of Art & Design in 2016, she won “Best in Photography” in the Science as Art Contest, and “Honorable Mention” in the Juried Art Competition. Her work has been shown in several exhibitions including the WSG Gallery, Ann Arbor Art Center, and the STAMPS Alumni Exhibition.
Michelina’s modern dance film “Chiaroscuro” in Detroit, MI was viewed at the Moving 24FPS Screening event. She recently produced a ballet screendance film in Richmond, VA. Her upcoming screendance videos will be shot in Indianapolis, IN and San Francisco, CA.
