Jenny Schu received her Bachelors of Fine Art with a concentration in Fiber Art from the University of Michigan in 2004. She is mainly a handweaver and beadweaver although she also uses a number of other dyeing and sculpture techniques in her works.
Jenny's beaded jewelry has been a go-to for color play, experimenting with new stitching techniques and dabbling in the small-scale ideas. Inspiration from Jenny's beaded jewelry often leads into her larger scale works. Jenny's process involves constantly working on bolder beaded structures, integrating these into handweaving and devoting hours, days and months to mixing fiber mediums for more detailed and dramatic pieces.
