Buster Simpson

Two chairs seek graceful migration to higher ground. One, from Robert Rauschenberg’s beach house, is perched atop a fifteen-person float adrift in the Gulf of Mexico (2016). The other, a ladder converted into a chair (gleaned from Garden Street Iron & Metal in 2014), is held aloft in suspension by a Florida Strangler fig tree (Ficus aurea). Rising Waters Confab II, Rauschenberg Residency 2016. Document of two installations, 2014-2016 ongoing, Captiva Island, FL.
