Thomas Callahan: The Bottom

The Bottom

Thomas Callahan

The Bottom is a space which renegotiates perceived or enforced queer shame and inferiority into self-acceptance. As a tufted rug displayed on the floor, it embraces inferiority, mirroring the sentiments behind the reclamation of the word "queer," abjection and abject art, and queer leather sex scenes.

This project was funded by the Dan and Ted Gadawski Callum project grant through the Spectrum Center.
