Carson Hart: The Lens of Place

The Lens of Place

Carson Hart

The Lens of Place reevaluates landscape photography through the deconstruction of individual locations. Removed from the persistent format of the rectangle, landscapes are re-presented in a circular arrangement juxtaposed against hundreds of other scenes. The panorama display encourages the viewer to walk along a collection of images, examining the many details, while also giving the ability to step away to view the more extensive, invented landscape. The photographs as a whole are meant to celebrate the natural environment and encourage the spontaneity of exploration.
