Cassidy Komorowski: Verbatim

Verbatim

Cassidy Komorowski

Verbatim is a sculptural installation comprised of projection and recycled CD pieces that comments on our ever-changing relationship with ourselves because of technology. Just as CDs spun around our Walkmans, the world also cycled, updated, and advanced. This new digital world was no longer surrounding us but rather existed in the palm of our hands. Confined in this rectangular box were fabricated personas, compressed emotions, and the constant passing of judgment. This began to control our paradigms and influence us to view ourselves and others in an ultimately negative way. The CD’s colorful and reflective attributes create an opportunity to recognize ourselves and others in an alternate experience outside that box of clicks, scrolls and double taps.
