News & Letter is an experimental film by Rey Jeong. Jeong captures surreal moments at the end of April, like listening to fake news about Kim Jong-un at the height of the pandemic. She plays a collage of live broadcasts from the BBC and CNN, juxtaposing nonsense news with the movements of letter writing. The noise of the news grows so loud that it erodes the scene. The video collage serves to archive the oddness during COVID-19. But, the film also secretly beckons to the Korean-American community by using English-language news and a letter in Korean.
