I am Rachel “Ray” Smith and I am a Sophomore at the STAMPS School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan looking to double major in the College of Engineering. My piece is called Sweets as it depicts a sweets shop pre-covid. Seeing it now reminds me of all the things that we have had to give up to keep ourselves and our communities safe. Don’t we all wish we could go to a sweets shop without worrying about masks and social distancing?
