The idea going into this piece was to intertwine a variety of natural textures into one composition. Some of the included textures are that of feathers, scales, bones, antlers, deer eye and fur, dried lemon, bark, etc... The main focus while working on this was ensuring that each component felt connected to the next, rather than just being a bunch of separate textures thrown together. That’s why I chose the skull as a base, it allowed for each element to be uniquely displayed as an overlay of said base.
