My American-ish Flag

Okyoung Noh

Graduate

Okyoung Noh's (b. South Korea) multidisciplinary practice explores the paradoxical process of de-/re-humanization of Asian immigrants in the United States. Her participatory installation, interactive performance, and discussion-based workshop invite participants and audiences to reflect on how Asian immigrants absorb, resist, evade, and transform hegemonic power structures and optimistic promises of an "American better life."
