A medieval gown with a pleated bodice panel that leads into an upside down v at the neck. It is framed by two strips of ruffles leading down to another V at the bottom of the bodice piece. The dress has long tapered sleeves that almost reach the floor with a floor length skirt.

Medieval Gown

Lauren Kopp

Muslin fabric dress

I created this gown in my Garment Design class as a historical piece. I drew inspiration from 19th century tea gowns and western bonnets to construct a dress that shows contrast in its fusion of ruffled and flat areas. My aim was also to achieve length with a skirt that touches the floor, and with sleeves that are almost as long.
