Loneliness can appear in many different forms to each of us, one of the most common being the feeling of loneliness that ensues when we are not physically alone yet feel alienated from others. This project explores space and the juxtaposition between living in a densely populated city while feeling disconnected from it. The abstract movements of the buildings seek to convey the often agonizing and tedious emotions that detachment and the inability to connect might bring. To counter the innate feeling of hopelessness a bird flies through the city, representing the yearning for and possibility of connection. Through self-awareness and agency, individuals can change their perspectives and find ways to thrive in a seemingly foreboding environment.
