Wooden sculpture (textured with paper and tissue paper)
Undergraduate
I have always been amazed with the simplified beauty that crystals possess. Through my work, I aim to bring a sense of fantasy and imagination to mind. From any angle, new colors and shine may be revealed to the eye. My work explores this interaction between various elements of crystals to then produce a new mystical reality that the form may exist in. Mixtures of transparent material and glimmering covering over the thin wooden framework were utilized to emphasize protruding triangular shapes, creating depth. As shifts in material work in harmony, a sense of mystery in the composition of “Crystalline” may be observed by any prospective viewer.
